The advent of the New Year is always full of resolutions. Although we may recognize certain personal areas that need our commitment and growth, don’t forget areas for professional growth.
Consider leadership improvement as a top professional resolution in 2013. In the busyness of our day, how often do a take a moment to reflect on what the word “leadership” personally means to us? And more importantly, how are we using leadership to achieve results for our organizations?
When thinking about what being a leader means, take a look at some leadership quotes from some great leaders:
“A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.” —Lao Tzu
“So much of what we call management consists in making it difficult for people to work.” —Peter Drucker
“The nation will find it very hard to look up to the leaders who are keeping their ears to the ground.” —Sir Winston Churchill
“A leader is a dealer in hope.” —Napoleon Bonaparte
Although inspiring, what practical steps can we take to be better leaders today?
In this New Year, we wanted to offer a webinar that would kick-start the discovery of our leadership strengths and potential. On Monday, Jan. 14 from 2 to 3 p.m. EST, we’ll be hosting a webinar, along with OneAmerica®, titled, “The Perfect Plan” – Transforming Your Outlook for Success. Click here to register. To receive the $149 discount for this webinar enter the code UBATPP when registering.
The webinar will review:
- A proven formula for success found among the nation’s top 1 percent of leaders and will show how to transfer this proven theory to retirement, benefits or any other business areas.
- Three promises and three beliefs (and where they collide — yes collide … you’ll have to join to discover what we mean!) and how they can help you create a promising future.
- Ways to excel by helping you to make the best professional and personal decisions.
When you experience the Perfect Plan, you won’t need anything except an open and honest mind — no egos, no political correctness. The Perfect Plan sessions are as much therapy as they are enlightening and are something you will remember for the rest of your career. At the very least, you will leave with a new look at the 21st century world of institutional sales and communication. It is designed to change belief systems and give you “permission” to look at the world in a different light.
