Some union leaders are upset about some unexpected consequences of health care reform, according to The Associated Press. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would add to the cost of multi-employer health plans that cover unionized workers in retail, construction, transportation and other industries with seasonal or temporary employment. It would do so through the requirement that health plans cover dependents up to age 26, eliminate annual or lifetime coverage limits and extend coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.
