States and cities across the country have recently passed legislation requiring organizations to provide paid sick days, according toWorkforce. There has been a strong pushback from employers, which has prompted some of these laws to be overturned. Among the cities to approve paid sick leave measures are New York; San Francisco; Portland, Ore.; Washington, D.C.; and Seattle. Roughly one-third of workers in the United States currently don’t have access to paid sick days.
